Reverse Osmosis Water Treatment Chemicals
PRODUCT DESCRIPTION
Reverse osmosis acid cleaner is a chemical specifically designed to clean reverse osmosis membrane systems. It typically has a low pH and can effectively remove inorganic salts and other contaminants such as calcium carbonate and metal hydroxides from the membrane surface without damaging the membrane element. Acidic cleaners are often used in conjunction with alkaline cleaners to achieve better cleaning results.
FEATURES
01
Applicability
Acid cleaner is suitable for all brands and types of aromatic polyamide and acetate membranes.
02
Composition
It contains super chelating agent, which can promote the dissolution of metal deposits; it also contains buffering agent, which can inhibit the change of pH value and keep it between 2.0~4.0.
03
Use effect
It can be quickly mixed with water to reduce the cleaning time and improve the cleaning effect, thus prolonging the running time of the membrane.
04
Easy operation
Liquid form is easy to mix with cleaning water, reducing labor and cleaning time; rinsing quickly and thoroughly, easy to rinse clean from the membrane surface.
HOW TO USE?
APPLICATION
Mainly used to remove calcium carbonate and other types of scale, suitable for most of the reverse osmosis, hollow fiber, nanofiltration and ultrafiltration membranes on the market today. Generally, acidic cleaners are used in conjunction with alkaline cleaners.
Typical Applications
During operation of a membrane separation system, organic matter in the feed water can accumulate on the membrane surface. The presence of organic matter provides an environment for microbial growth, resulting in microbial fouling. This fouling prevents the flow of water through the membrane, resulting in lower water production, higher operating pressures, and additional pressure differentials in the system, which can cause irreversible damage to the membrane. In addition, the accumulation of fouling beneath the membrane surface increases the amount of dissolved material passing through the membrane, resulting in poorer produced water quality. Before poor produced water quality or membrane damage occurs, fouling should be removed by on-site or off-line cleaning. Cleaning is required when the following signs occur. A significant decrease in permeate volume, a significant increase in system differential pressure, or an increase in salt permeate, resulting in poor water quality.
PRECAUTIONS
Safety precautions: Latex gloves, protective eyewear and protective clothing are required when using acidic cleaning agents. If the agent splashes in the eyes, immediately flush with plenty of water and quickly seek medical help.
System preparation: Before use, the entire RO cleaning system needs to be inspected and flushed to ensure that it is clean and tidy.
Pollution Analysis: The type of RO membrane element being polluted and its reasons should be clarified before cleaning, and analyzed after cleaning to develop appropriate pretreatment defense measures.
Temperature control: The temperature of the cleaning solution should be kept within the recommended range, usually 25~35°C.
Flow rate and soak time: The flow rate and soak time for cleaning should be determined based on the type and degree of membrane element contamination.
Program Consultation: For heavily contaminated systems, a technical engineer should be consulted during cleaning to obtain the best cleaning program.
pH Monitoring: If the cleaning solution becomes cloudy or the pH is out of the recommended range, the wash solution needs to be reformulated or the detergent replenished.
